Trails: passages into Pattern-based design and analysis

Paradoxically, often as more expert knowledge is embedded in a pattern language it becomes less accessible to novices. The Learning Patterns project has tried to address this issue by a small set of Trails which accompany our pattern language.

A trail is an informal illustrative account of how patterns were derived or how they might be used. It is not presented as hard data or detailed analysis, but rather as an aid for the casual reader.

Beginning the design process A trail to help you use learning pattern to begin the design of your technology enhanced learning environment.
Concept Development Patterns A description of the origin of the Storyboarding and Observation patterns
Content Embedding This is a story of how we derived the Content Embedding pattern drawing on our prvious experience on producing educational software and games.
PGCE Deployment trail This is the summary of a set of patterns derived from the part of the Learning Patterns study conducted at the University of Warwick
The GmX trail How we went from a succesful experiment to a set of general patterns.
The three C's: Construct, communicate, collaborate The WebReports system emerged from our effort to bring together the individual and social facets of learning.
