Starting from a given game, a new game is developed keeping some elements of the given game, but changing other elements
The problem / intent
Suppose one wants to create a new game starting from a given one which has some good elements but which isn't 100% suitable to the context where the new game has to be applied.
This pattern should allow to individuate the elements of the original game which has to be kept, and the elements that have to be changed. After that it will allow to chose more specific patterns to be followed to design the new game according to the nature of the elements to be kept or to be changed.
The context (to be developed)
This pattern is relevant whenever one wants to create a new game starting from a given one which has some good elements but which isn't 100% suitable to the context where the new game has to be applied. This could be used for instance by teachers that want to adapt some game to their class, or by researchers which want to create a new game changing a given one.
The key principles of Learning and instruction which should characterize the game and its educational use. In other words, use the Learning and instruction typology to individuate/define the key educational ideas of the game.
